Florida Villa
We have just got back from Highlands Reserve, where we stayed at a 6 bedroom / 4 bath Florida villa. Our Florida villa was wonderful - exactly as advertised. I'm a stickler for such things - nothing annoys me more than misleading advertising.
First, and most important, the villa in Florida was nicely decorated and very clean. The pool was wonderful, the beds comfortable, the 42" TV and huge selection of DVD movies were great, the computer and printer were ideal for printing maps, checking weather, keeping up with e-mail, etc. The game room in our luxury rental villa had loads of toys for all ages and included a 6 foot pool table, foosball, video game system, etc and was fun even for our older teenagers. We also found eight large beach towels for the pool and waterparks, and even a top-of-the-range stroller, a cooler for bringing along food/beverages, little kid's bikes, and more.
The bedrooms in the villa comprised a king master suite, a queen suite, an Animal Kingdom themed queen suite, and a princess room suite with two twins. I believe the living room sofa was also a convertible. Every bedroom in our luxury villa had a television, and private bathrooms - one of which was double entry. There were blow dryers in all bathrooms plus a hair-straightener in the master bedroom..
The kitchen in the villa was well-equipped with a great wide slot 4 banger bagel toaster, icemaker, blender, lots of pots and pans, etc. It was probably the best-equipped rental kitchen we have ever experienced. The blender made really good margaritas. All the appliances in the Florida villa were fairly new and worked without any problems.
The Highlands Reserve surroundings are wonderful. Our vacation home was probably a 5 minute walk to the golf clubhouse. You might want to drive from the villa if you've already walked enough in the parks. We mainly used the pool in our villa, but visited the community pool once. Unfortunately we had to leave due to there being lightning in the area. We romped enough on the slides at the waterparks while there so this wasn't a big issue.
We found that our Highlands Reserve villa was incredibly close and convenient to Walt Disney World and all the area stores and restaurants. We never drove more than 10 minutes to or from any of the parks (usually it was around 5 to 7 minutes) using the Sherberth Rd shortcut most of the time, especially at night when the park closing traffic could be heavy.
